Paúl valley: coffee, grogue and cachupa

Best forSlow days after a hike
Paúl is where Santo Antão eats. Banana, sugar cane, a little coffee, and grogue distilled in backyards. A day here is a lunch and a walk between terraces, not a museum trail.
How to do it
Stay a night. Walk up-valley in the morning. Taste grogue where it is made. The road from Porto Novo is slow and worth it. Pair with a Cova hike the day before, not the same afternoon.
